Test It has gone through many incarnations (as well as names) over the years. The project itself was started sometime in 2002 as a way for me to keep track of which radon inspections that I had performed had paid and which ones hadn't yet. Gradually, it grew to track which realtors were associated with which test, generate PDF bills for me, and be an easy way to keep track of mileage driven.

Since its humble beginnings as a simple PHP application, it has now grown into Ruby on Rails. The rewrite (and redesign) was performed over winter break between the fall 2005 and spring 2006 semesters. The database was completely redone to encompass a lot of what was learned from classes throughout college as well to add more features, such as associating realtors with the offices they work at and adding more test information such as weather that occurred during the test.

In its current state, Test It is a fairly simple application. An individual is able to add, update, and delete tests. It also creates bills and fax cover sheets to reduce the overall time spent dealing with each test. Additionally, with the rewrite, the actual test documents are able to be uploaded and associated with each test to help with the retrieval of old tests. This is a feature that was badly needed in prior versions.

Test It continues to evolve. Future plans are to add in easier ways to view the number of tests done per month and plot them on a graph with prior years. I also hope to someday add in a way for customers to access and pay for their tests online once they have been completed.
